Nigerian Afrobeats and Afro-fusion artiste SHOGSKEED has officially released his highly anticipated debut EP, “SHEMILOGO,” marking a major milestone in his musical journey.
The six-track project arrives on August 13, 2026, coinciding with SHOGSKEED's birthday and following weeks of anticipation, cover art and tracklist reveals, snippets, an intimate listening party and a series of promotional activities leading up to the release.
The title “SHEMILOGO” carries a powerful message. Translated from Yoruba, it speaks to the idea of “God has glorified me” or “The Lord has made me glorious,” a theme that runs throughout the project.
A Journey From Doubt to Glory
One of the most personal elements of the EP comes from its opening track.
The intro begins with a voice note expressing doubt about SHOGSKEED's ability to succeed in music, before transitioning into a prayer from his mother.
That moment sets the tone for the project.
Rather than simply presenting a collection of songs, SHEMILOGO documents a journey — from uncertainty and criticism to faith, perseverance and the belief that the journey will ultimately lead somewhere meaningful.
The following tracks continue that spiritual direction.
“Eleda,” meaning “My Creator,” explores prayer, faith and dependence on God, while “On God” continues the project's message of trusting God through the journey.
The EP then moves through different sides of SHOGSKEED's artistry, including love, lifestyle and personal experiences.
A Project Built From Different Chapters
The project also includes previously released material, including “Ololufe Mi,” which gives listeners a familiar entry point into the EP while placing the single within the wider story of SHEMILOGO.
With six tracks in total, the project combines SHOGSKEED's Afrobeats and Afro-fusion influences with Yoruba expression, contemporary African sounds and personal storytelling.
Rather than attempting to follow a single musical formula, SHEMILOGO allows listeners to experience different chapters of the artist's journey.
The Listening Party
Ahead of the official release, SHOGSKEED hosted a listening party on August 12, bringing together friends, supporters, fellow creatives and guests to experience the project before its worldwide release.
The timing of the event added another layer to the celebration, as the gathering transitioned into August 13, marking both the official release of SHEMILOGO and SHOGSKEED's birthday.
The midnight moment became a celebration of two milestones at once — the beginning of a new year in SHOGSKEED's life and the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
