Sokoto Govt Orders Closure of Mosque After Cleric Stabbing, Suspect Killed




The Sokoto State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the Lukuwa Jumu’at Mosque in Mabera, Sokoto metropolis, following a violent incident that occurred after Friday prayers.


The incident involved the stabbing of an Islamic cleric, Musa Lukawa, shortly after the Jumat prayer.


According to reports, the alleged attacker was subsequently killed by worshippers at the mosque.


The state government ordered the closure of the mosque to prevent further tension and maintain public order while authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.


Security agencies are expected to take appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence and ensure that the situation does not escalate within the community.
