Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has vowed to knock out Anthony Joshua within seven rounds when the two British heavyweights meet in Cardiff on December 11.
Fury made the prediction after the long-awaited bout was officially confirmed, saying he expects to stop Joshua inside six or seven rounds.
Speaking on the Furocity YouTube channel, Fury said he planned to dominate Joshua before turning his attention to a potential third fight with Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk.
> “I’m just going to knock him out, one hundred per cent,” Fury said. “I’m going to box the head off him and stop him inside six or seven rounds.”
Fury described Joshua as a “stepping stone” towards another meeting with Usyk, who defeated him twice on points in 2024.
The outspoken heavyweight also questioned Joshua’s speed and stamina, insisting he was confident of cutting through his opponent when they eventually meet in the ring.
The fight at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has already faced several setbacks during negotiations. However, the bout was confirmed this week, although a fresh dispute involving the promotional arrangements has since raised questions over whether the event will proceed as announced.
Fury and Joshua are two of Britain’s biggest heavyweight names, and their long-awaited showdown has been in discussion for several years.
