Breaking News: PDP National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur Resigns

Reports reaching ReportNaija indicates that the embattled national Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has officially tendered his resignation letter.

Confirming the report, a senior
member of a faction of the National
Working Committee of the party told
Punch in Abuja on Wednesday, that
President Goodluck Jonathan will
disclose the latest development to
party members at the meeting of the
National Caucus of the party holding in
Abuja tonight.

Tukur's resignation has saved him the
embarrassment of being suspended
from the party by the members of the
NWC.

Already, there were plans by the
National Working Committee and the
National Executive Committee to
suspend the embattled
Chairman.

Report equally has it that The First Lady, Patience Jonathan is already making some moves to have the Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar appointed as the new party Chairman.
