The INEC chairman prof Jega just announced the new date for the general elections.
Here are the reasons he gave for the shift in date..
After all consultations and meeting of the section6 subsection 21 of the INEC constitution
Due to the security state of the country
The presidential and National Assembly elections originally scheduled for 14 February have been
shifted to March 28 while the governorship and states houses of assembly elections earlier fixed for 28 February will now hold on 11 April.
