In continuation with the push to capture Sambisa forest, after the
capture of Gwoza and Alagarno forest, troops of the 3 and 7 Divisions of
the Nigerian Army supported by the Nigerian Air Force, on Friday
recaptured Bita, Izge, Yamteke and Uba towns in Askira Uba and Damboa
Local Government Areas of Borno State.
A statement by the spokesman of the army Colonel Sani Usman said: "During the encounter, one soldier paid the supreme price while 10 others sustained various degrees of injury. Similarly, a lot of Boko Haram terrorists were equally killed and recoveries made."
