Due to the vicissitudes of life, Obi Johnson Ojo, a 45-year-old 1st class graduate of Electrical Instrumentation & Control Engineering of the Nigerian Institute of Instrument Engineering, is in the throes of imminent death if kind hearted Nigerians do not come to his aid fast.
He once bubbling father
two kids, fell into this precarious situation in the year 2008 when he was
diagnosed of severe rheumatic mitral stenous or in lay man terms, damaged
valves in his heart or Acute Heart Failure.
The situation, according
to the Medical Consultant & Cardiologist in charge of ECHO Test at ME CURE
Healthcare Limited, Dr. G.T Lasisi, has become an emergency issue and urgent steps must be
taken if Obi is to live. And what is required is for him to be flown to India
for a heart surgery to replace the damaged valve or he will die a painful
death!
The operation, as
estimated by the doctor, will cost around N6 million, an amount the family of
the Ukwuani, Delta State born Engineer has been battling to put together, hence
the need to send an urgent 'save-a-soul' message to kind hearted Nigerians to save him
from the jaws of death.
Obi is currently on
admission at Bolakunmi-Idowu Memorial Medical Centre located number 5,
Segun-Ishola Street, off Isawo Road, Owutu-Agric, Ikorodu, Lagos State, and has
been surviving on a minimum of N20, 000 worth of drugs weekly while still
trying to raise the money for the operation.
On compassionate grounds,
the Medical Director of the hospital where he's currently admitted, employed
him as the hospital's Radiographer on contract basis where he worked until he
became bedridden and unable to do anything physical.
A heart-rending message
sent by the family reads:
"Six million is a
lot of money but your widow’s mite would be welcomed. Anything to make up the
money needed to save Obi and take the family out of this misery. Nigeria is
still in need of services of people like this as he is still young."
