Police Release Official Statment Over High Caliber Bombs Earlier Discovered Yobe Today

On behalf of IGP Solomon Arase NPM fdc, the Commissioner of Police Yobe State command uses this opportunity to commiserate with the families of the policemen who paid the supreme price in line of duty during the unfortunate suicide bomb attack of Monday 20th July, 2015. May God grant them eternal rest in his bossom.

 Apart from the high caliber military bombs recovered from the body of the female member of the suicide squad, on the 21st July, 2015 a detachment of investigators were deployed to the scene together with Police EOD experts, purposely to evacuate the carcasses for investigation activities.


However upon careful evaluation by the EoD men, 6 units of Military mortal bombs and 2 very heavy (50kg) improvised bombs carefully concealed and primed were recovered from the carcasses.

2 Units of Ak 47Assault rifles
2 magazines of Ak 47
 60 rounds of Ak 47 life ammunition recovered from Insurgents after a fierce battle that left many of the BH elements dead at Bara under Gulani LGA of Yobe state.

The insurgents haven been overpowered by Police deployment in that area with many of them dead abandoned these weapons and ran away. Thank you..
