17 Babies, 4 Pregnant Teenagers Rescued From Imo State Baby Factory

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Imo State Command has rescued 17 babies and 4 pregnant teenagers from an orphanage used as a baby factory. Commandant Pedro Idiba disclosed to newsmen in Owerri yesterday that his men, acting on a tip-off stormed the orphanage known as Jehovah Jireh in Orlu Local Government Area of the state at about 9:30am on second of this month and rescued the people

The commandant also revealed that a two-week-old baby delivered by one Kasarachi was among the babies rescued from the supposed home.

He said that his men on proper search of the home discovered an expired license of the orphanage, alleged to have been owned by a local government staff in Orlu, known as Cecelia Egemole....

He also said that a nanny who is an elder sister to the proprietress, Mrs Felicia Egemole, confessed that some of the girls come to the orphanage to deliver their babies and leave them behind.
