Toke Makinwa launched her autobiography 'On Becoming' on Sunday, Nov 27, and it sold out that same day. Click here if you missed it. Fast forward to less than 24 hours and the stores where the book is in stock have been sold out.
She made this known in a tweet earlier today.
Not only that, less than 48 hours after the launch of the book, 'On Becoming' has jumped to number 10 on the best releases list on Amazon.
'On Becoming' tells her struggles in life after she lost her parents in an house fire at the age of 8, as well as growing up and Toke's version of what led to the break down of her marriage to Maje Ayida.
People who read the book say it evokes strong emotions in them. Excerpts from the 102 paged book gives an insight to why Maje didn't get Toke pregnant, how he told her to accept his cheating and start acting right because she is the wife and Anita the girlfriend after she caught him with Anita in public. How Maje's mother told her (Toke) that her prayer is Toke will find her own husband knowing fully well Toke was dating her son. So much salacious details!
