A
young protester in Benue state yesterday, tragically lost his life
after being hit by a stray bullet reportedly fired by a policeman on
duty.

According to one social media user, Nor Lawrence who posted the
graphic photo of the lifeless body of a young man soaked in the pool of
his own blood, a trigger-happy officer perpetrated the act yesterday in
Benue.
The gory incident took place in Ikpayongo Gwer East local government of Benue state over Fulani herdsmen issues.
Reports circulated the Nigerian media space yesterday that locals
barricaded a major road in the area to express their grievances about
the killing of a farmer by a suspected herdsmen.
A policeman who was part of security operatives monitoring the
incident reportedly fired at unarmed protesters leaving this unnamed man
dead and others severely injured as they scampered for safety.
