The Appeal Court in Abuja on Tuesday, upheld the election of Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha.
The court delivered the judgment following an appeal filed by the Action Alliance, All Progressives Grand Alliance, AA, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenging the election of Ihedioha.
They urged the court to set aside the decision of the tribunal and declare them winner of the election.
Alternatively, the appellants prayed the court to order a rerun.
It also fined the AA gubernatorial candidate, Uche Nwosu five hundred thousand naira for waste of time.
The court held that Nwosu had no ground to appeal the verdict of the Tribunal which had earlier affirmed Ihedioha’s victory in the March 9, 2019, gubernatorial election in Imo State.
