The Olu of Epe Kingdom, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, has d!ed at the age of 86
The revered monarch reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 31, 2025. He will be buried later today in accordance with Islamic rites.
High Chief Odedeogboro Balogun of Epe Kingdom, Musiliu Adeniyi, confirmed the monarch’s death in a statement to Punch Online.
“The news is true. It was this morning. He will be buried 4 o’clock today,” Adeniyi said.
Oba Adewale was the 19th ruler of the Epe Kingdom. Before his coronation, he held the titles of Otun-Balogun and later Balogun — the third- and second-highest chieftaincy positions, respectively.
A respected public servant, he was a retired Director of Administration in the Ministry of Education and also served as Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Lands.
