  • Wike testifies in church after near plane crash
  •

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has confirmed and testified that he was aboard the private jet that recently suffered an engine failure at 34,000 feet, causing a moment of panic mid-flight

The incident had gone viral after a clip emerged in which a man—now confirmed to be Wike—was heard praying loudly and passionately.

In the clip, the voice cried out:

“Satan, you are a liar! Father, Father! Oh Jehovah! Blood of Jesus! Father, prove Yourself. Jesus, You are in charge. Save my soul!”

Speaking during a testimony at church, Wike recounted the terrifying moment. According to him, the incident occurred while he was en route to Lagos to join his wife and daughter, who had earlier arrived in the city from Port Harcourt.

“I was waiting for them at the Air Force Base,” Wike said. “I thought, instead of returning home, I’d just fly straight to Lagos from there. I was with Olaka Ogwu and Marcus Leach.”

“Fifteen minutes after takeoff, we heard a loud boom. The pilot informed us one of the engines had failed. He advised that we return to Port Harcourt because it was safer than continuing to Lagos. So we turned back.”

Wike noted the fear among those onboard, recalling how his companion Olaka said, “I haven’t even told my wife yet.” Wike added that he himself had not informed his parents about the incident either.

Despite the terrifying experience, the minister expressed deep gratitude for a safe landing and the protection they received.
