Former President Goodluck Jonathan met with African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Chairman David Mark on Thursday night, shortly after Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and other senior ADC members held the party’s first National Caucus meeting in Abuja
Though the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, it is widely believed to be tied to ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Reports suggest that some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been lobbying Jonathan to accept the party’s ticket and challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming polls.
Jonathan, who lost the 2015 presidential election to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has yet to publicly confirm whether he will run, though he remains constitutionally eligible for one more term.
Earlier on September 11, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi also visited Jonathan in Abuja, further fueling speculation about his 2027 plans.
Jonathan and Mark maintain a strong political relationship, with Mark having served as Senate President during Jonathan’s tenure.
