Life has a way of breaking a person down in ways they never imagined, and for Chukwuma Elizabeth, the journey has been nothing short of heartbreaking. She took to Facebook to share a deeply emotional reflection on the painful experiences that have shaped her life in recent years.
According to her, everything changed the moment she lost her mother. What she thought was the worst pain life could ever give her soon became only the beginning.
“I lost my best girl to kidney failure. I lost my mom’s only brother. I lost my nephew, Ethan. I lost my younger brother — and that loss broke something in me that has never fully healed. I lost myself completely,” she wrote.
But life was not done with her yet.
In a devastating turn of events, she later lost her father too. At that point, she said she could no longer even describe her emotions.
“I’m not even sure what to feel anymore. I’m just numb. I’m quiet. I’m humbled in the kind of way you only understand when life drags you to your knees and leaves you there.”
Elizabeth described these experiences as leaving a permanent coldness within her — a part of her that died and may never return. According to her, some wounds do not heal; they simply learn how to breathe.
People often told her to “be strong,” but she explained that strength has stopped being a choice — it has become survival. All she can now whisper is “it is well,” because that is all her spirit can manage.
She ended her post with a tribute to her late father — “RIP Daddy” — and a reminder that she is no longer the same person life once knew.
