Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has tendered his resignation with immediate effect, citing health-related concerns.
In a letter dated December 1 and addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former minister stated that he could no longer continue in office due to deteriorating health conditions that require urgent and sustained medical attention.
The resignation comes as the nation continues to grapple with rising insecurity, making Badaru’s sudden exit a major development within the Tinubu administration.
President Tinubu is expected to announce an acting minister or a replacement in the coming days as the Defence Ministry navigates this transition.
This is a developing story.
