Reports making the rounds on social media suggest that popular Nollywood actors Frederick Leonard and Peggy Ovire may have gone their separate ways, stirring fresh conversations about the state of their marriage.
The celebrity couple, whose union became one of the most celebrated marriages in Nollywood, tied the knot on November 19, 2022, after a glamorous traditional ceremony in Warri, Delta State.
Speculations about a split resurfaced after veteran Nollywood movie producer, Stanley Ontop, took to Instagram claiming the pair have allegedly been separated for a while. According to him, the marriage had reportedly faced several challenges and supposedly ended long before the recent discussions online, Reportnaija reports.
Ontop further hinted that the union was troubled and allegedly marked by frequent disagreements, suggesting the couple may have been incompatible. He also claimed Peggy Ovire played a major role in Frederick Leonard’s career growth, although these claims remain unverified.
Rumours of a crack in the marriage first emerged in 2023 when Peggy was spotted on multiple occasions without her wedding ring, fueling widespread speculation at the time. Frederick Leonard, however, dismissed the rumours back then, insisting that his marriage was private and should not be subjected to public interference.
As at the time of filing this report, neither Frederick Leonard nor Peggy Ovire has issued an official statement regarding the latest development. Fans and industry colleagues continue to await clarity from the couple.
