A woman identified as Ebere Ahamefule, a former choir member of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry (a.k.a Liberation City), has publicly come forward with disturbing allegations against popular Lagos pastor, Prophet Dr. Chris Okafor.
In an emotional narration shared during an interview, Ebere claimed she endured years of secret emotional, psychological, and physical trauma allegedly caused by the cleric, whom she says she trusted as a spiritual father.
According to her, the relationship began around 2013/2014 when she was still a young church member in her early twenties. She alleged that Prophet Okafor summoned her, claimed her life and family were under spiritual threat, drew her closer to himself, and eventually began a relationship with her. She claimed she was given cash gifts and “special attention” which gradually led to intimacy.
The mother-of-one further alleged that she became pregnant multiple times, claiming she was pressured to terminate the pregnancies, which she says left her physically and emotionally damaged. Ebere said she lost count after allegedly aborting four pregnancies, adding that the experience nearly took her life at one point.
She narrated that the cleric allegedly promised marriage to her and even went as far as family introduction arrangements, but allegedly later backed out. According to her, she became pregnant again and refused to terminate it, resulting in the birth of a son, whom she insists Prophet Chris Okafor fathered.
Ebere alleged that despite the alleged introduction and promises, she was neglected throughout the pregnancy and after childbirth. She claimed the pastor refused to acknowledge the child publicly, allegedly offered minimal support, and allegedly cut communication with her several times.
She also alleged attempts to intimidate, silence and allegedly frustrate her out of the church, claiming she was deliberately targeted, embarrassed, and removed from church activities because the child reportedly looks like the cleric.
According to her, the child is currently 2 years and 8 months old, and she is struggling to take care of him alone. She appealed publicly for help and justice.
Ebere maintained that she has evidence, medical reports, conversations, and witnesses who allegedly know about the situation.
No Official Response Yet
As at the time of filing this report, Prophet Chris Okafor has not responded publicly to the allegations. Attempts to reach the church leadership and associates reportedly connected to the matter have not yielded any official statement.
