
YEWA FRONTIER AMUSEMENT PARK, RADIO STATION COMMISSIONED IN ILARO

The Yewa Frontier Amusement Park and Yewa Frontier 102.9 FM were on Tuesday commissioned in Ilaro, Ogun State, by the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle.

The colourful commissioning ceremony attracted royal fathers, traditional rulers and chiefs from across Yewa Land, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of private investment in entertainment and broadcasting within the region.Speaking at the event, Oba Olugbenle clarified that the Yewa Frontier conglomerate is firmly located in Ilaro, contrary to speculations in some quarters that the facility is situated in Ibese. He stressed the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence between Ilaro and Ibese, describing both as major kingdoms whose cooperation is vital to the development of Yewa Land.

The paramount ruler further disclosed that the intervention of Ilaro Kingdom played a key role in facilitating the construction of the concrete road linking the Dangote Cement factory to Oke-Ibese, several kilometres away from Ibese town, describing it as an example of collaboration yielding tangible development.From insights shared during the earlier unveiling interview on Yewa Frontier 102.9 FM, the owner of the Yewa Frontier brand, Engineer Afisu Olabimtan, explained that the conglomerate was conceived as a multi-purpose hub aimed at promoting entertainment, information dissemination, tourism and youth empowerment in Yewa Land.

He noted that the radio station and amusement park are designed to complement each other in boosting the local economy and projecting Yewa culture to a wider audience.Also speaking, the Chairman of Yewa Frontier, Chief Muftau Olabimtan, expressed gratitude to the traditional institutions and the host community for their support, assuring that the facilities would be professionally managed and run in the interest of the people.Traditional rulers present at the commissioning included Oba John Adewale Olaifa, the Alase of Ilase Land; Oba Akintunji Akinyemi, JP, the Eselu of Iselu; Oba Lukman O. Kuoye, the Olu of Imasayi, among several other royal fathers.

Also present were top government functionaries and political office holders, including the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Lateefat Bolanle Ajayi, members of the National Assembly led by Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), who was represented by his wife, Chief Mrs. Temitope Adeola as well as Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Hon. Tunji Akinosi, both members of the House of Representatives.

Other dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olusegun Elemide; the Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Governor, Dr. Toyin Taiwo; Commissioners, Special Advisers, Local Government Chairmen across Yewa divisions, and notable sons and daughters of Yewaland. The ceremony also witnessed the presence of media stakeholders, including the State Director of the National Broadcasting Commission, Prince Adesunkanmi Adewale, and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju.The commissioning of Yewa Frontier Amusement Park and Yewa Frontier 102.9 FM is widely seen as a boost to media development, tourism and social life in Ilaro and the entire Yewa Land.
