Senate Confirms Appointment of 64 Ambassadors


The Senate has confirmed the appointment of 64 ambassadors-designate, comprising 34 career ambassadors and 30 non-career ambassadors, following the consideration and adoption of the report of its Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The confirmation came after the nominees were screened and cleared by the Senate, marking a major step in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic representation across the world.

During the exercise, the Senate also noted that the name of one nominee from Yobe State, Adamu Garba Tarba-Nagri, was dropped, having passed away in July this year.
