A heartbreaking family and business crisis has unfolded after a woman discovered that her husband — whom she introduced into her thriving business — had been secretly having an affair with their salesgirl, ultimately destroying their livelihood and putting their family in turmoil.
According to reliable sources, the woman grew up in the business under her father and later introduced her husband into it when he was struggling in his own line of work. With her expertise, the business flourished. They expanded, hired apprentices and sales assistants, and became well-known in their market.
However, everything changed the moment her husband insisted on hiring a particular young lady as a salesgirl — a move his wife strongly opposed. Trouble began shortly after the lady resumed work.
Business Decline and Suspicious Behaviour
Within months, the wife noticed a sharp drop in sales. The new salesgirl was caught red-handed stealing, yet the husband defended her and became hostile towards his wife. He eventually banned her from coming to the shop she built from scratch, leaving it in the hands of the salesgirl and a few remaining apprentices.
Family members, rather than addressing her concerns, advised her to “obey her husband for peace to reign.”
Affair Exposed
The situation escalated when the woman uncovered proof that her husband was having an affair with the salesgirl. Reports say he even paid ₦2.5 million for a self-contained apartment for her, with plans to continue paying ₦1.5 million subsequently.
When confronted, he denied the affair and resorted to gaslighting, often leaving home angrily for days.
The apprentices later revealed that the salesgirl had been collecting money from customers into her personal bank account. But instead of correcting the wrongdoing, the husband fired the sales boys and left only his mistress to run the shop.
Customers began to complain that the once fully stocked warehouse-like shop had become nearly empty since the wife’s absence.
Disappearance and Lies
On December 1, the husband packed his bags, claiming he was travelling to their village in the southeast for a burial. He went incommunicado afterwards — ignoring calls and messages.
When the wife reached out to his family, they said he never arrived. Shockingly, his brother called her later, rudely telling her to “mind her business.”
Accident Exposes the Truth
The truth came out only when a mutual friend called her, asking about her husband’s condition after an accident on December 5.
This prompted her to investigate. She learned that:
- Her husband and the salesgirl had been lodging in a hotel in Epe since December 1.
- They partied every night, even going to clubs on the Island.
- On December 5, around 4am, they were returning from a club drunk when they had a terrible accident after Sangotedo.
Reports indicate the salesgirl suffered a serious head injury and has been in a coma since, with doctors fearing possible memory loss if she survives.
The husband sustained multiple fractures.
Wife Takes Action
The devastated wife, now focused on her children, reportedly went to the shop to clear what was left in order to support her three young children.
She has made it clear that she has no intention of visiting her injured husband or the salesgirl in the hospital.
