Popular Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye, has raised an alarm over the alleged piracy of one of her movies by a man identified as Emmanuel Davis, accusing him of illegally uploading her content on YouTube without her consent.
In a video currently making the rounds online, the visibly distressed actress claimed that the unauthorised upload led to her original movie being demonetised on the platform. According to her, the incident has taken a serious toll on her mental, physical and financial wellbeing, coming after what she described as an already overwhelming and stressful week.
Bimbo further alleged that the same individual also took a song specially created for her by singer Ugochi and uploaded it on various streaming platforms while falsely claiming ownership. She explained that the singer had deliberately refrained from officially releasing the song online to avoid issues such as piracy.
The actress issued a stern warning to the alleged perpetrator, demanding that the pirated content be taken down and the monetisation issue resolved within one hour. She noted that her decision to speak out publicly was to ensure the matter was properly documented.
Describing both the movie and the song as products of intense hard work and dedication, Bimbo Ademoye condemned the alleged actions, calling them unfair, damaging and deeply frustrating for creatives who invest heavily in their craft.
