The family of Mrs. Patience Ngozi Adiele has called for eyewitness accounts following her sudden death onboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight while returning to the United States.
Mrs. Adiele, who recently clocked 70 years, had travelled to Nigeria from the United States during the Christmas festive period to celebrate her milestone birthday with family and loved ones. She was described as an experienced international traveller with over a decade of frequent trips between the UK and the USA.
According to the family, she boarded Ethiopian Airlines flights ET 950 and ET 500 on January 19, 2026, departing from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, en route to the United States. Sadly, she did not arrive alive at her destination, as she reportedly passed away onboard the aircraft on January 20, 2026.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, prompting the family to appeal to fellow passengers who were on the same flight to come forward with any eyewitness accounts or relevant information that may help clarify what transpired during the journey.
Passengers who travelled on the Ethiopian Airlines flight from Abuja on January 19, 2026, and have useful details are encouraged to contact the family via email at princeucheadiele@yahoo.com.
The family says it hopes that firsthand accounts from fellow passengers will help shed light on the events that led to the tragic incident.
