This was made public in a tweet by Former Presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore. According to Sowore, the pair intends to form a ticket to challenge incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming election.
However, Sowore has made the explosive claim that this potential alliance is actually a strategic maneuver designed to pave the way for President Tinubu to secure a second term in office.
Sowore suggests that rather than representing genuine opposition, the Osinbajo-El-Rufai ticket would effectively serve as a decoy to split votes and ultimately benefit Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Neither Osinbajo nor El-Rufai has publicly responded to these allegations, which come amid growing speculation about potential challengers to President Tinubu in 2027.
El-Rufai recently announced defection to the SDP from the APC, which has garnered widespread reaction.
