  • Gombe Attack: Two Siblings Killed, Others Abducted in Early Morning Raid

  • Tragedy struck Pindiga town in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State in the early hours of December 28, 2025, when armed men stormed a residential area, leaving two people dead and several others abducted.

The attack, which occurred around 3:30 a.m., claimed the lives of 31-year-old Yusuf Mohammed and his 28-year-old sister, Faiza Mohammed, who was reportedly seven months pregnant at the time. The assailants were said to have opened fire on the house, killing the siblings on the spot.

In the same operation, four other residents — including a 16-year-old girl, an adult woman, and her two young children — were kidnapped from a nearby house, plunging the community into fear and mourning.

Yusuf Mohammed was known to be active on social media, where he frequently shared his thoughts on community and national issues. He described himself as a writer and was popularly known online as Yusuf Daddy or Prince Yusuf Derdoski. His online presence has since drawn public attention following the attack.

Confirming the incident, the police said the attackers were unidentified armed men. Security operatives who visited the scene reportedly recovered empty AK-47 shells, indicating the type of weapons used during the assault. The victims were rushed to the hospital but were later pronounced dead and subsequently buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

Following the incident, the Gombe State Governor directed security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe rescue of those abducted.

Meanwhile, some unverified reports circulating online have suggested that the attack may be connected to Yusuf Mohammed’s social media activities, particularly posts believed to be critical of criminal elements. However, the police have stated that there is no official confirmation linking the attack to his online posts.

As of the latest update, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing as residents of Pindiga town continue to grapple with the shock and grief left in the wake of the deadly нападение.
