The situation resurfaced in January 2026 when Eddie Bliss’ fiancé came online to announce that his fiancée had allegedly been arrested. According to him, the arrest followed a complaint reportedly filed by Mercy Johnson’s husband over the claims circulating online.

News of the arrest sparked widespread reactions on TikTok and other platforms, with several users pleading on Eddie Bliss’ behalf while also tendering apologies to Mercy Johnson for the damage the allegations may have caused.
