The remains of late Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her daughter, Adesewa, were finally laid to rest on Friday, 9 January 2026, at St John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Ita-Olookan, Osogbo, Osun State.
The burial brought a somber closure to a tragic case that shocked residents of Osun State and Nigerians across the country. Funmilayo, aged 38, and her daughter were reported missing in November 2025, sparking widespread concern and search efforts before the heartbreaking discovery of their deaths.
Investigations later revealed that the mother and child were allegedly murdered. A close associate of the deceased, Victor Fajemirokun, was arrested in connection with the crime. He is accused of carrying out the act with the assistance of two herbalists identified as Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James.
All suspects are currently in custody, as investigations have been concluded and the case proceeds through the judicial process. Authorities say they remain committed to ensuring justice is served.
Family members, colleagues from the FRSC, church members, and sympathisers gathered at the burial to pay their last respects, offering prayers and words of comfort to the bereaved family.
The tragic death of Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun and her daughter has continued to reignite conversations around personal safety, trust, and justice, as many Nigerians await the court’s final verdict on the matter.
