Suspected bandits have demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for the release of two residents of Ora Igbomina in Osun State who were abducted during a late-night attack on Saturday, February 1.
Family sources disclosed that the kidnappers made contact using the mobile phone of one of the victims, insisting on the hefty ransom for their freedom. The families, however, said the amount being demanded is far beyond their capacity, describing the situation as distressing and uncertain.
Confirming the incident, the Osun State Police Command said efforts to rescue the abducted residents are ongoing. According to the police, security operatives have been deployed to the area to secure the community and intensify the search for the perpetrators.
