Nkechi, wife of popular Nigerian actor and content creator Nkubi, has recounted a disturbing experience she says she had with a medical doctor during her pregnancy.
Speaking during an interview on February 10, 2026, Nkechi revealed that a doctor advised her to cheat on her husband in order to avoid having a child with dwarfism.
According to her, the incident occurred after she presented the results of her abnormality scan to the doctor. While reviewing the report, the doctor reportedly asked whether there was a history of dwarfism in her family.
“I said yes, that was my husband,” she explained. “Then the doctor said, ‘Why didn’t you go to your brother-in-law or go outside to get pregnant instead of getting pregnant for your husband?’”
Nkechi described the comment as shocking and deeply inappropriate, noting that it came solely after she disclosed her husband’s condition. She said the remark left her emotionally shaken and raised serious concerns about professionalism and ethics in healthcare.
During the interview, the couple also spoke about the challenges they have faced since welcoming their daughter, particularly the online bullying directed at the child. They expressed concern over how social media criticism and insensitive comments have affected their family, especially as public figures raising a child in the spotlight.
Nkubi and his wife emphasized the importance of empathy, professionalism, and respect, both within the medical community and on social media, stressing that no family should be subjected to such remarks or treatment because of physical differences.
The revelation has since sparked conversations online about medical ethics, discrimination, and the need for greater sensitivity when dealing with patients and families living with disabilities.
