Lady Shares Emotional Encounter With Fasting Muslim Man in Lagos

A heartwarming encounter at Mushin Market has sparked conversations about kindness and unity among strangers.

A Lagos-based lady recently shared her touching experience after meeting a young man, Olarewaju, during a bus ride to the bustling market. According to her, the young man joined her seat and greeted her respectfully, reflecting what she described as the upbringing of a well-mannered Yoruba man. She responded warmly, and the brief exchange soon turned into a memorable moment.

While they were still on the bus, a vendor came onboard selling soft drinks and bottled water. The lady offered to buy something for Olarewaju, but he politely declined, saying he was fasting. When she asked if he was Muslim, he nodded in affirmation.

Moments later, she requested a bottle of water for herself. However, as she reached into her bag to make payment, she realized Olarewaju had quietly paid for it.

The unexpected gesture left her deeply moved. She noted that it reminded her of a time when Muslims and Christians openly shared meals during fasting periods, inviting one another to break fast together despite religious differences.

Although Olarewaju is not active on social media, she urged well-meaning Nigerians to wish him well and celebrate simple acts of kindness that continue to restore faith in humanity.

Olarewaju, may your kindness return to you in many folds.
