Tuesday, 24th February, 2026, McRoberts Energy Limited; organizers of "Niger Delta Food Security Summit and Expo 2026" hosted members of the Media in a press briefing to unveil plans and prospects for the maiden edition of the summit scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The CEO of McRoberts Energy Limited and Chairman, Central Planning Committee; Engr. Emmanuel Robert while addressing members of the press said that "Niger Delta Food Security Summit & Expo 2026" will reinforce regional and international collaboration to transform food systems while empowering youths and local enterprises.
He also added that "Niger Delta Food Security Summit & Expo 2026" is a regional policy and investment platform designed to strengthen food systems across oil- producing and coastal communities in which one of its primary aim is to address food insecurity in vulnerable communities and promote youth participation across agricultural value chains.
Engr. Robert also highlighted that the summit will bridge financing gabs in agribusiness in the all the Niger Delta states.
In his words: "A nation that can't feed itself can not be developed, as such, Niger Delta Food Security Summit & Expo is not a gathering of voices that will speak passionately in to a room and work away into silence"
"The summit is a deliberate, strategic and urgently necessary conversation that the Niger Delta must have as a people in a bid to set a pace for food security in the Niger Delta region", He added.
The organizing crew later unveiled the theme for the maiden edition of the summit which is "Food Security, Energy & Youth Inclusivity: Engaging the Youths to Secure the Future of Niger Delta"
"Niger Delta Food Security Summit & Expo 2026" which is a 3 Day event is scheduled to hold from 22nd - 24th April, 2026 at Ceedapeg Hotel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Also in attendance at the briefing was other members of the Central Planning Committee as highpoints of the briefing was interactive session with members of the press.
