Onos Brisibi, Voice Behind Classic Nollywood Soundtracks, Dies at 55

 


Gospel artiste and renowned Nollywood soundtrack vocalist, , has passed away at the age of 55.

Her family confirmed her death in a statement released on Thursday, March 26, 2026, noting that she died on March 23 after a prolonged illness.

Late Brisibi was widely recognized for her powerful and emotive voice, which featured prominently in classic Nollywood productions such as Domitilla and Blood Money, where her music helped shape some of the industry’s most memorable moments.

In their tribute, the family described her as a devoted Christian whose music touched countless lives, emphasizing her commitment to spreading the gospel through song.

“The Brisibi family announces with deep sorrow the passing of esteemed Sister Onos Nancy Brisibi, who transitioned to glory on March 23, 2026, after a protracted illness,” the statement read.

They further described her as “a gifted songstress and passionate praise and worship leader whose angelic voice impacted many.”

Remembering her personality, the family noted that she would be cherished as a warm and joyful individual. “She will be remembered as a beautiful, fun-loving woman with a heart of gold, whose faith, kindness, and warmth left lasting impressions on all who knew her,” the statement added.

Onos Brisibi is survived by her daughter, Sarah Brisibi, her mother, siblings, extended family, as well as friends and members of her church community in LoveWorld Ministries.

Her passing marks the end of an era for many lovers of gospel music and Nollywood soundtracks, where her voice once stood as a defining presence.
