The Nigerian community in the United States is in mourning following a devastating road accident that claimed the lives of a 44-year-old mother and two of her children in Fort Bend County, Texas.
Nihinlolawa Agboro, along with her daughter Temiloluwa, 18, and son Isaac, 22, were pronounced dead at the scene after a truck lost control on U.S. Highway 90A, crossed the median and smashed head-on into their SUV. The truck reportedly overturned and caught fire immediately after the impact.
According to authorities, three occupants of the SUV did not survive. The two surviving children – a four-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy – were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver was also taken to hospital for treatment.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash, with early indications pointing to possible alcohol involvement. No further details have been released as the probe continues.
A family relative who spoke to local media described the incident as “absolutely heartbreaking,” saying the family had been looking forward to a new chapter in America. The news has triggered an outpouring of condolences from Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora, with many taking to social media to pray for the surviving children and the bereaved family.
ReportNaija sends its heartfelt condolences to the Agboro family and the entire Nigerian community affected by this painful loss. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.
