Another member of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo’s family, Clinton Ekubo, has publicly joined the growing calls for answers over the circumstances surrounding the actor’s de.ath and burial, backing earlier statements made by relatives David and Ify Ekubo
In a lengthy Facebook post, Clinton alleged that Alex’s stepmother took control of major decisions in the actor’s life, including his marriage, without the knowledge of the Ekubo Okwareke family.
He also claimed Alex became distant from his biological family and grew closer to his stepmother’s relatives.
He further alleged that the family was never informed about Alex’s illness before his de.ath and only learned of it after the announcement was made publicly by his stepmother. According to Clinton, the burial arrangements were handled by Alex’s friends and stepmother without involving members of the family.
Clinton also questioned the circumstances surrounding the actor’s de.ath, alleging that the burial was rushed and demanding an explanation over what he described as blood clots on Alex’s eyes.
He insisted the family was not interested in any property but simply wanted clarity about what happened.
He wrote:
“Honestly speaking, My brother David Ekubo and my sister Ify Ekubo were right in their write up.
“His step mother arranged her best friend daughter for Alex for a wife without Ekubo Okwareke family’s knowledge and the marriage was done just like that. We were shocked when we heard that Alex was married.
“Alex lost interest in our family and became a member of his step mother’s family to the extent that he attend every marriages done in her family.
“Alex Ekubo was sick, nobody knew till his death. He died we the family don’t know that our son was sick and dead till it was announced to the public by his step mother. Alex Ekubo rejected his biological mother while he was alive and doesn’t want to do anything with her. His biological mother is still alive.
“His burial arrangements was planned and arranged by his friends and step mother without the members of the family.
“Nobody is explaining what really happened to our son. How come the blood clot on his eyes. Is blood clot on his eyes part of the cancer also?
“Please, take away properties from this, Ekubo Okwareke family demand an explanation on our son since she could not explain to us indoor.
“ALEX IKKENNA EKUBO OKWAREKE, REST IN PEACE.”
