Veteran Nollywood actor and House of Representatives aspirant for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Abuja, under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for 2027, Emeka Ike has raised a passionate cry for urgent action against the rising wave of insecurity plaguing Nigeria.
During a peaceful protest in Abuja over insecurity, In his address to security officials, the actor expressed deep frustration over how fear has robbed him and many others of a cherished pastime.
“I love road travel, but today I am denied of my best form of travel. So many Nigerians love to have it on the road, but we are no more safe,” he said.
Emeka stressed that authorities must act swiftly before the crisis spirals further out of control.
While acknowledging that his own family remains relatively unaffected for now, he highlighted the pain already being endured by countless other households across the country.
He appealed for an immediate halt to the violence, warning that unchecked banditry and killings could endanger the nation’s very survival.
“Let’s stop this killing. Let’s stop bandits from taking over our country. If our country is taken, where will all of us work?” he stated.
