The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the personal particulars and credentials of candidates contesting for the offices of President, Vice President, Senate, and House of Representatives, in line with the Electoral Act.
The publication, carried out simultaneously at INEC offices across the country, allows members of the public to inspect the information and documents submitted by candidates seeking elective offices.
Among the documents made public are the personal particulars submitted by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The publication of candidates' particulars is a key stage in Nigeria's electoral process, providing an opportunity for eligible members of the public to examine the documents and raise any lawful objections where necessary, as stipulated by the Electoral Act.
INEC said the exercise is aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in the electoral process by ensuring that information submitted by candidates is open to public scrutiny before the elections.
The commission urged Nigerians to take advantage of the publication period to verify the credentials and personal details of candidates vying for elective positions across the country.
