Former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Bayo Adelabu, has abandoned plans to challenge the outcome of the party’s Oyo State 2027 governorship primary in court.
Instead, Adelabu has called for urgent reconciliation within the party, citing alleged irregularities surrounding the primary which he said have further deepened divisions among members.
The former minister’s decision means he will not pursue legal action against the conduct or outcome of the primary, opting instead for dialogue and internal resolution of the issues.
Adelabu reportedly expressed concern over the state of affairs within the Oyo APC, stressing the need for party leaders and stakeholders to urgently address grievances arising from the primary.
According to him, unresolved disputes could further weaken the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election if immediate steps are not taken to restore unity.
The development comes as political activities intensify across Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties expected to begin consolidating their structures and resolving internal disputes.
Adelabu, who previously contested the Oyo governorship election, has remained a prominent figure within the APC in the state.
His call for reconciliation is expected to put pressure on party leaders to address the grievances raised by members and work towards presenting a united front ahead of the 2027 election.
