The United States has moved to deport 10 Nigerians recently added to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) “Worst of the Worst” register of suspected criminal offenders.
The names and photographs of the individuals were published by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration enforcement and deportation campaign.
The latest list includes Nigerians accused of offenses ranging from wire fraud and identity theft to child-related sexual offenses, drug offenses, conspiracy, and weapons-related crimes.
Those recently added to the register are:
Temitope Bashiru — wire fraud, identity theft and fraud
Ojehoro Lewis — cruelty toward a child
Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe — wire fraud
Daniel Oworen — dangerous drugs
Raymond H. Ekevwo — wire fraud
Franklin Dikeocha — sexual offence against a child – fondling
Johnson Ogunlana — fraud and identity theft
Chukwuemeka Okorocha — wire fraud, dangerous drugs, possession of a weapon and aggravated assault
Tunde Korede — conspiracy
Chukwuemeka Chineye — fraud involving a banking-type institution, larceny, identity theft and conspiracy.
According to DHS, the register highlights foreign nationals arrested by ICE over alleged criminal offenses. The department said the initiative is part of efforts to prioritise the removal of individuals it considers serious criminal offenders.
However, the US authorities did not disclose specific dates for the deportation of the 10 Nigerians.
The latest additions bring the number of Nigerians featured on the register to 134, following previous additions of 79 Nigerians in February and 45 others in July.
The development comes amid an intensified immigration enforcement drive by the US government, with ICE continuing to target undocumented immigrants and foreign nationals facing criminal allegations.
