Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has alleged that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso are working in the interest of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Adeyanju made the allegation in a post on X on Saturday, September 26, 2026, claiming that the two opposition politicians were repeating what he described as their role in the 2023 election.
He alleged that supporting Obi and Kwankwaso in the 2027 election would ultimately benefit Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeyanju wrote: “Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are working for Tinubu as they did in 2023. Don’t waste your votes again on them like 2023.”
He added: “A vote for them is a vote for Bola Tinubu and the APC. They know exactly what they are doing.”
The allegation comes amid renewed political activity ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Obi and Kwankwaso, who contested separately in the 2023 election, are now running together under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), with Obi as the presidential candidate and Kwankwaso as his running mate.
Adeyanju did not provide evidence in the X post to substantiate his allegation that the two politicians are working for Tinubu. Meanwhile, NDC chieftain Buba Galadima recently said Obi and Kwankwaso were “on the same page” and that the party was working to harmonise differences between them ahead of the election.
The 2027 presidential election is scheduled for January 16, 2027, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
