The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted more than 1.3 million pills of tramadol and other opioids, as well as about 6,000kg of cannabis, in operations carried out across several states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The seized drugs have a combined estimated street value of over ₦3.4 billion, according to the agency.
The operations were part of ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to disrupt the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs across the country.
The agency said its operatives also arrested suspects in connection with some of the seizures, while investigations into the various operations are ongoing.
The latest interceptions underscore the continued enforcement efforts against the trafficking of pharmaceutical opioids and cannabis, which remain among the substances targeted by the agency.
