‘I never knew playing bass guitar would change my life’ – Oyinloluwa
Nigerian-born, UK-based gospel musician Oyinloluwa Bamidele, popularly known as Oyinloluwa or Oyin Bass, has reflected on how his commitment to playing the bass guitar has shaped his professional journey, saying he never anticipated that the instrument would open doors to wider opportunities.
OyinBass said he had been developing his craft for years before gaining wider recognition through his association with EeZee Conceptz Global and his contributions to projects involving gospel singer Minister G.U.C.
According to him, his journey has been built on consistency, discipline and a commitment to treating musicianship as a profession rather than limiting it to church activities.
“I have been doing this for a long time, but I never knew playing bass guitar would change my life in this way. It has taken years of learning, practising and remaining committed to my craft. I have always believed that being a gospel musician goes beyond ministering in church; it also requires professionalism and a willingness to develop your skills,” he said.
His professional journey gained wider attention following his association with EeZee Conceptz Global, which introduced him to a network of gospel artistes and recording opportunities.
His work with Minister G.U.C., particularly on projects including Lamb of God and Potter – Refix, further brought his bass guitar contributions to the attention of gospel music audiences.
For Oyin bass, the experience demonstrated how instrumental musicians can build professional identities within the music industry while remaining committed to their faith and musical purpose.
Beyond bass guitar performance, he has expanded his activities into music production, songwriting, composition and music direction.
His other collaborative credits include Great by Tomi Folayan, I Will Not Fear by Sam Petts and Prayer by Brenique Adams.
Now based in the United Kingdom, Oyinloluwa continues to pursue opportunities in recording, live performance and music production, with bass guitar remaining his primary specialisation.
His journey highlights the professional opportunities available to instrumentalists who invest in developing their craft and approach music as both a creative discipline and a career.
