President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he asked Almighty Allah for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians during his recent Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, expressing confidence that his prayers had been answered.
The President made this known on Monday while reflecting on his spiritual journey, during which he was granted the rare opportunity to enter the Holy Ka’abah and offer prayers.
Speaking about the experience, Tinubu said he had made a similar prayer before the 2023 presidential election and returned to Makkah to give thanks after what he described as an answered prayer.
“I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that prayer has been granted. Before the 2023 election, I did the same thing. I asked Allah to bless my Umrah then, and He did. And I promised that I would come back to thank Him,” he said.
Tinubu expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation access to the sacred site.
He described the opportunity to pray inside the Ka’abah as a historic and deeply cherished experience.
The President also reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s development, saying his determination to build a prosperous country had become stronger following the spiritual exercise.
He further called for greater investment in the future of young Nigerians, stressing that decisions taken by leaders today would shape how future generations remember them.
Tinubu performed Umrah on Friday, October 30, at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, where he also prayed for peace, unity, harmony and stability in Nigeria. <Cite refs={["turn560516search1","turn560516search0","turn560516search4"]}/>
