  • Singer Portable Denied Bail, Remanded Over Alleged Assault and Car Theft

  • Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been remanded in custody by a court in Ogun State following his arraignment on multiple criminal charges.

Portable was brought before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, where he faced nine-count charges bordering on alleged assault, theft, and obstruction of law enforcement officers in the line of duty. The charges also include resisting arrest, among other related offences.

During the court proceedings, the presiding judge declined the bail application filed on behalf of the singer, citing the nature of the allegations and the need for the defendant to be properly arraigned and investigated. The court subsequently ordered that Portable be remanded in custody pending further hearing.

The case was adjourned to January 19 for continuation of trial.

Portable, known for his outspoken personality and frequent controversies, has been in the public eye for a series of run-ins with authorities and colleagues in the entertainment industry. As of the time of filing this report, neither the singer nor his legal team has made an official statement following the court’s decision.

The matter remains under judicial consideration.
