The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially classified the use of “money bouquets” as naira abuse, placing it in the same category as spraying, squeezing, selling, and defacing currency.
According to the apex bank, arranging banknotes into decorative bundles or floral-style displays contributes to the destruction and mishandling of the naira, which remains a punishable offense under existing financial regulations.
The CBN warned individuals, event planners, gift vendors, and the general public to desist from the practice, noting that enforcement efforts will continue to intensify nationwide.
