INEC Transfers Osun REC Mutiu Agboke to Ondo State After Three-and-Half Years

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially transferred the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Osun State, Mutiu Agboke, to Ondo State.

Agboke served in Osun State for three and a half years. He assumed office as Osun REC in November 2022 after completing his second term as REC in Oyo State. He was reappointed to the position by former President Muhammadu Buhari in the same year. During his tenure in Osun, Agboke successfully supervised the conduct of the 2023 general elections in the state. As of now, INEC has not named a successor to take over as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State. The transfer is in line with INEC’s routine redeployment of senior officials across the country to strengthen electoral operations in different states. *ReportNaija will bring you updates on the new REC for Osun State as soon as INEC makes the announcement.*
