Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Arrests Nigerian National With Drugs Worth Over L$354,500 in Sinoe



Authorities in Liberia have confirmed the arrest of a Nigerian national in connection with drug trafficking in the southeastern county of Sinoe.

In a statement issued on April 7, 2026, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) disclosed that its operatives apprehended the suspect, identified as Ojukuwu Godwin, during an early morning operation on April 4, 2026.

According to the agency, the arrest was carried out at about 7:30 a.m. following the execution of a search and seizure warrant. During the operation, officers recovered multiple illicit substances believed to be intended for distribution.

The confiscated items include 28.3 grams of Kush and 26 grams of cocaine. The LDEA estimated the street value of the seized Kush at US$566 (approximately L$107,500), while the cocaine is valued at US$1,300 (about L$247,000).

In total, the agency placed the combined street value of the drugs at US$1,866, equivalent to over L$354,500.

The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation. The LDEA stated that he will be charged in line with the provisions of the amended drug laws of Liberia.

Meanwhile, the agency has called on members of the public to support ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking by providing credible information through its official reporting channels.

The arrest underscores continued enforcement actions by Liberian authorities aimed at curbing the spread and distribution of illegal substances across the country.
