The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested an alleged terrorist arms supply kingpin, identified as Abubakar Mubarak, and dismantled a network suspected of supplying weapons to terrorists in Katsina and Nasarawa States.
Mubarak was reportedly arrested by operatives of the intelligence agency during an operation aimed at disrupting the movement and distribution of arms to criminal groups operating in the two states.
The DSS said the operation uncovered a network allegedly involved in supplying weapons and other military-related materials to terrorists.
According to the agency, the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the logistics and supply chains supporting terrorist activities across the country.
The development is expected to assist security agencies in tracing other individuals involved in the alleged arms supply network and identifying the sources and destinations of weapons being circulated.
The DSS has continued to intensify intelligence-led operations against terrorism, banditry and other forms of violent crime, urging members of the public to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in preventing attacks and dismantling criminal networks.
