The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has secured a major commercial boost after signing a three-year title sponsorship agreement worth $7.5 million with Poland-based EuroMatch Group.
The deal, unveiled in Abuja on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, is valued at $2.5 million per season and will see EuroMatch become the new title sponsor of Nigeria’s top-flight football league ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Under the agreement, 60 per cent of the sponsorship proceeds will go directly to the participating clubs, with the funds expected to improve players’ salaries and welfare.
NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, disclosed the financial arrangement at the unveiling, saying the decision to channel the larger share of the revenue to clubs was aimed at ensuring that the commercial growth of the league translates into tangible benefits for players.
He said the sponsorship would provide clubs with additional resources to improve the welfare and earnings of their players.
The agreement also marks the end of the NPFL’s lengthy search for a conventional title sponsor. The league has gone almost a decade without a major title sponsorship arrangement after its previous partnership with telecommunications company Globacom ended in 2016.
The NPFL is expected to be known as EuroMatch NPFL during the three-year partnership.
The sponsorship comes as the league continues to implement reforms aimed at improving club finances, player welfare, broadcasting, branding and the overall commercial value of domestic football.
The development is also expected to strengthen the financial position of the 20 clubs competing in the NPFL and create better conditions for players as the new season gets underway.
The deal represents one of the biggest commercial agreements in the history of Nigeria’s domestic football league and is being viewed as a significant step towards making the NPFL more financially sustainable and attractive to investors.
