Hon. Chinedu Ogah, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, over alleged money laundering.
Ogah made the call following a viral video in which Cubana Chief Priest criticised Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, and described his administration as a failure.
In the video, the socialite reportedly called on the governor to resign, sparking reactions from political stakeholders and members of the public.
Reacting to the development, Ogah urged the EFCC to examine Cubana Chief Priest’s financial activities, alleging that there were issues that warranted investigation by the anti-graft agency.
The lawmaker’s call comes amid heightened reactions to the socialite’s comments about the Ebonyi State government.
However, the allegations of money laundering have not been established against Cubana Chief Priest, and there was no indication in the statement that the EFCC had commenced an investigation.
